I struggled for years not have the information I needed to troubleshoot. Either I couldn't get access to the information or I couldn't find it due to complex manuals. I always hated how the manuals are structured and the confusing wording they chose. So I created this chiller troubleshooting guide to solve that exact issue.

The YK Troubleshooting Guide/Tech Sheet is a phenomenal field resource for younger to mid-experienced chiller techs who have not yet mastered these machines. This resource blends critical technical data from the various York manuals with the valuable field experience and real-world knowledge of a seasoned chiller tech and distills them down into a perfectly-sized quick reference for field maintenance or service visits. The Troubleshooting Guide can help technicians more confidently asses system performance and troubleshoot operational issues. Are you logging the chiller and not sure what some readings like oil differential pressure or small temperature difference should be? It's in the Troubleshooting Guide. Have you found a full oil catch bottle and can't remember what the factory guideline is for shaft seal oil loss? The factory standard is in the Troubleshooting Guide, as well as a real-world, field-tested recommendation for sites with limited redundancy. Are you troubleshooting a machine that is surging, or perhaps high base plate temps? The Troubleshooting Guide provides a list of possible causes and what to check for on these and many more operational issues. If you have a seasoned chiller tech with years of experience on YKs who always answers the phone and is always happy to help you out, maybe you don't need this guide. For the rest of us, this is the next best thing - Holden (HVACTIME) has years of experience on these machines and has infused the guide with that knowledge. I reference my copy several times a week. This is the same thing but an updated version. They were originally branded Tech Sheets but the chiller community voted to rebrand to Troubleshooting Guides.
